We would describe the child within in these words

We would describe the child within in these words: This child the sword cannot cut, nor the spear pierce; the fire cannot burn nor water melt it; indestructible, omnipresent is this child.

The Truth of the PROGRAM We are addicted. We are addicted to dissociation.

We are addicted. We are addicted to dissociation. Several months ago we started wondering if the defences we commonly use could possibly be termed addiction. We knew they were habitual. We knew they happened spontaneously, like a reflex, without time for us to stop and reflect whether or not this was the response we wanted to use; We knew that when we tried to use other responses it was exceedingly difficult and required much continual mindfulness on our part.We looked up addiction in online dictionaries: “The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or involved in something.” That sounds accurate.”The state of being enslaved to a habit or practice.” Well, that certainly fits! “And the last one: “Habitual psychological and physiological dependence on a practice beyond one’s voluntary control.” That definition fit completely. We COULD NOT stop dissociating when we wanted to.We do not attach a moral judgment to the word “Addiction”. It is a simple statement of fa...

We reflexively go away inside when we brush up against something difficult, and we are gone before we know it.

The Childhood mind is peculiarly vulnerable to trauma, especially when young – a blind-fear is induced which turns thought off. Thought ceases. The mind is ‘ill’. It pays the child within not to know what is happening, or who is doing what, to him or her. This is variously described as ‘denial’, dissociation, projection, repression .The upshot is that the child within daren’t look, so cannot see.. The child works on the perception that “full thought or visualisation of this event is TERMINAL”. And once the child within stops seeing, and this can happen quite suddenly especially pre-verbally, then they are thereafter incapable of telling whether or not the trauma has stopped. “This isn’t happening to me” leads inexorably to the inability to say or think or believe that “this has stopped happening to me” – or even very clearly what “this” is. It is a painful thing to wake up the child within — and to start to understand our need for the child's recovery. It breaks rules. It ...

Childhood Traumas evokes a thought fog in the child’s mind which then perpetuates itself, sometimes indefinitely, blocked there because only unimpaired contact with our child within can clear it. This has consequences. One, it renders the conventional treatment approach counter-productive. Two, since this fog prevents sufferers from knowing that the trauma has stopped, it provides an exceptionally clear contact point for our child within – convincing our child that the abuse is now over. Closer examination of the nature of the healing of our child within,  so all our trauma symptoms are remit in a constructed fear-free zone of the stages study.Creating a workable solution with our stage guides to map out a clear way to our recovery.
